Question:  What is a box spring and why do I need one?

Answer: A box spring is a set of strong, coiled springs that are shrouded in cloth or synthetic fabric. Box springs are typically light in weight, but they are very durable. Box springs provide additional cushioning between the mattress and floor, leading to less damage to both the bed and the underlying flooring.

Box springs provide height and durability to a mattress. A box spring will:
– Help to keep larger mattresses level
– Increase mattress height to make it easier to get in and out of bed
– Help protect the mattress from standard wear and tear
